“The assortment pack for our autumn buy finally gave the committee one picture to argue about. We still disagreed on two subclasses, but at least we were looking at the same sell-through curves.”Nalinee S. · Merchandise Planning Lead, Bangkok specialty apparel · Seasonal Assortment Review

Evidence from planning rooms, not star ratings
Planners describe the engagement they booked and what changed in the committee — including the moments that still needed judgment after the charts were clear.
“Their markdown study pushed us to cut earlier in home textiles than we liked. Margin held better than the prior year, though I still wish we had kept one hero print longer.”Prasit W. · Category Manager, regional lifestyle retailer · Markdown Timing Study
“We booked a category briefing for soft toys ahead of the school holiday. The session was dense, but the shelf adjacency notes were usable the next morning on the floor walk.”Mei Ling T. · Buyer, multi-store children's retailer · Category Performance Briefing
“The open-to-buy visuals stopped our Friday meetings from dissolving into spreadsheet archaeology. Not every residual figure was perfect — receipts lag — yet the room moved faster.”Anucha K. · Planning Director, fashion group · Open-to-Buy Visual Pack
Extended note: autumn assortment for a specialty apparel group
A Bangkok specialty apparel planner engaged Pulse Gridpoint for a Seasonal Assortment Review ahead of autumn receipts. Two prior seasons showed strong sell-through in knit tops but aging in a wide color story that had been bought deep.
The visual pack narrowed hero depth to three proven silhouettes and recommended shallower supporting colors sized to an eight-week full-price window. The committee still kept one speculative print — against our caution — and later marked it down early. The rest of the buy exited cleaner than the prior autumn, and the planner reused the pack format for the following season’s internal prep.
